Adeara’s First Golf Tournament: Recap!

What an incredible day it was at Adeara’s inaugural golf tournament. Held at the stunning Ranch Golf and Country Club, the event on June 12, 2024 united golf enthusiasts and supporters for a memorable day of sport, camaraderie, and philanthropy and raised $90,926 for our centre!

On the Course
The tournament began with a bang, courtesy of our Event Lead, Juli, who had the honour of shooting the starting gun. Even though the weather was less than ideal, spirits were high. Our golfers showed true dedication!
Throughout the round, there were plenty of memorable activities. Whether it was a long drive contest, the marshmallow drive thanks to Monarch Insurance, the closest-to-the-pin challenge thanks to Biddle Johnston Wealth Management, or the beat-the-executive director game which proved to be a crowd favourite, everyone had an enjoyable time!
- James H. Brown & Associates added to the excitement with a putting challenge and plenty of freebies.
- MHK Insurance kept everyone refreshed with virgin Caesars.
- Bridgespan Cafe & Grill provided delicious burgers and refreshments throughout the day
- The Wall Coffee Roasters served hot coffee at their hole, perfect for the dreary weather.
- Special thanks to Action Electrical for their presence and to Christian Credit Union for engaging golfers with fun “spin the wheel to win” activities and draw prize!
Unfortunately, no one was able to secure the $10,000 Hole-in-One prize, courtesy of Martin Deerline, but their team was present (along with Martin Deerline equipment) cheering everyone on, alongside Ed & Bev, two of Adeara’s dedicated volunteers.

Banquet Dinner
After the round, everyone gathered in the clubhouse for a delicious steak dinner, courtesy of our Banquet Sponsors, World Financial Group. Participants watched a brief video outlining Adeara’s history, providing insight into our journey and impact on our city, and dreams for future growth. Following the video, a former Adeara client, who also took part in the golf tournament, shared her moving testimony, leaving not a few eyes tearied.
The primary goal of our tournament was to raise funds and awareness for Adeara Recovery Centre, and we’re thrilled to announce that together, we raised over $90,926! This wouldn’t have been possible without the generous contributions of our participants, sponsors, and volunteers.
