The Reality of Addiction for Women in Canada
In 2024, only 46 treatment centers across Canada were dedicated to women. Even fewer offered long-term care or accommodations for children. (CEWH, 2024)
Every year, Adeara receives more applications from women seeking recovery than we can accept into our program. The addiction and overdose crisis are overwhelming, and women often face even greater barriers to accessing treatment—especially those who are pregnant or raising children.
Where Adeara Makes a Difference
Adeara is one of the few long-term recovery centres in Canada that accepts women and their children. We recognize the specific needs of women overcoming addiction, which is why Adeara provides a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach to recovery, believing that each of these elements is essential in creating long-term, sustainable change for women in addiction and their families.
This work is only possible because of fundraising events like our Golf Tournament. By participating, you help keep recovery affordable for women who might otherwise not have access to the support they need.
And this year, Adeara’s impact is expanding as we’re launching our Transition House Program, providing ongoing support for clients as they continue to live out their recovery beyond our current one-year program.
Join us on the course on June 11, 2025 and help us make recovery accessible to all, empowering and equipping women and their children to live in freedom from addiction. Secure your spot today!
