Coldest Night of the Year 2024
December 8, 2023
We’re thrilled to partner with Coldest Night of the Year for our fourth year, hosting a 2-5K walk to raise funds and awareness to support women experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness in our city. Coldest Night of the Year is a nationwide initiative that encourages communities to walk and support charities aiding those experiencing homelessness, distress, and hunger.
Our team recognizes that many women who come to Adeara have faced both homelessness and addiction. Creating a sustainable path to recovery can prevent future episodes of homelessness and provide hope for the future. Support Adeara and the women seeking hope, healing and restoration by registering to lead a team or join a group walking 2K or 5K outdoors on February 24, 2024. Each team sets a fundraising goal for Adeara and participates in the walk together on February 24, 2024, in the Millwoods neighbourhood.
All ages are invited! From toddlers to active seniors, everyone is encouraged to sign up and join in. Plus, there’s an extra cozy bonus: when you go above and beyond in fundraising ($150+ for adults and $75+ for youth 17 and under, you’ll receive a 2024 CNOY toque to showcase your efforts proudly.
To learn more and register, visit our CNOY webpage.
If fundraising isn’t your thing, but you still want to participate in this event, we’re looking for dedicated volunteers! Volunteers help on the day as route marshals, set-up and tear-down, hot chocolate distribution, and check-in help. To learn more about volunteering for the Coldest Night of the Year, click here – make sure to enter Edmonton Millwoods as your location.
This is an exciting opportunity to engage your family, neighbours, small group, sports team, and co-workers to come around a cause together and impact the lives of the most vulnerable women in our city.
Join us as we walk in support of the women at Adeara, who are taking steps each day toward sustainable recovery so that they might never experience hunger and homelessness again.
