Coming This February: Coldest Night of the Year
December 14, 2020
We are excited to announce that this February 20th of 2021, Adeara will be participating in Coldest Night of the Year! Coldest Night of the Year is a national event where families and community members can walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger.
Our team knows that many of the women who come through Adeara’s doors have experienced homelessness alongside addiction. Tragically, the two often operate hand in hand. Establishing a strong path to recovery might also mean a woman might never experience homelessness again.
This year, you will be able to sign up to lead a team or join a team of individuals walking 2K or 5K outdoors for the women of Adeara! Each team will consist of 7 or more people and collectively raise a fund goal for Adeara, and then partake on the walk together on February 20th. Plus: we’ll all don our new Coldest Night of the Year touques! Pending COVID-19 restrictions, we will either walk on a designated outdoor route in Edmonton, or walk together virtually (each participant chooses their own personal route, from a loop around their neighbourhood to tackling the treadmill in the basement).
This is an exciting opportunity to engage our families, young and old, to come around a cause together and experience the coldest night of the year. We will be participating alongside the Bissell Centre and the Mustard Seed as we all raise money for vulnerable populations in Edmonton.
Stay tuned for more updates on how you can join, coming this January!
