Engagement Coordinator

The Engagement Coordinator plays a crucial role in organizing and managing both events and volunteers for Adeara. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong interpersonal abilities, and a passion for our mission. The Engagement Coordinator is responsible for fostering positive relationships with Adeara’s community of donors, fundraisers, partners, and volunteers through personal connection, awareness building, and events. The Engagement Coordinator is expected to deliver a high level of service to the community and complete his/her responsibilities in a manner that is appropriate and in agreement with Adeara’s mission, values, policies and philosophy of care.
Adeara is a long-term, residential recovery program for women. We help women in addiction create lasting change through our accredited, faith-based program.

Responsibilities
Event Coordination:
- Brainstorm, strategize, and implement creative ways to build relationships with Adeara’s community through our annual fundraising events and outreach activities.
- Develop, plan, and execute all aspects of Adeara’s events, including but not limited to the Evening of Dreams gala, Gold Tournament, Coldest Night of the Year, and appreciation parties.
- Develop event timelines and manage schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth event operations.
- Maintain donor databases and ensure accurate record-keeping of all stakeholder information.
- Evaluate and report on past events and develop strategies to improve based on findings.
Volunteer Coordination:
- Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteers to support various programs and initiatives.
- Develop volunteer training materials and conduct orientation sessions.
- Assign volunteers to appropriate roles based on skills and interests.
- Maintain volunteer databases and ensure accurate record-keeping of volunteer information.
- Recognize and appreciate volunteers for their contributions and dedication.
- Foster a positive volunteer experience to encourage long-term engagement.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree/diploma in marketing, communications, business, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years successful experience in communications, event planning, fund development, and public relations
- Tech-savvy: proficient with technology and a quick learner of new software.
- Experience in developing and coordinating activities and campaigns.
- Public speaking experience and skill considered an asset
- Experience working with volunteers in a non-profit organization considered an asset. Able to oversee and delegate to a team of volunteers and enforce clear communication practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care, addictions, and mental health (training provided).

Successful candidate will be required to obtain a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Intervention Check.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
