What You Made Possible in 2025
January 8, 2026
As we reflect on the last year as an organization, one word continues to surface—growth. While growth can be exciting, it also comes with many challenges. By God’s grace and provision, we have experienced growth on several fronts—our team, our thrift store More Than a Fad, our impact and our community of support.
This year especially, we have been reminded of the impact that occurs when a community comes together for a united purpose. Because of your faithful prayers and generous investment of time and resources, lives have been transformed, families have been restored, and further opportunities for recovery support have been made available.
These outcomes don’t just happen. They require commitment and multiple layers of support, and you have been a part of that.
Serving Mothers and Their Children
Together, with your support, we got to serve 16 women and their 12 children this year. As one of the few recovery centres in Canada that accepts both women and their children, we are proud to say that all the women who entered our program this year were mothers.
Deepening the Recovery Journey
Over the past few years, we have been focusing on helping clients engage with the program and stay committed to their recovery process long-term. With greater time spent in the program, there has been less client turnover and greater stability in the recovery journey. This year, the average length of stay in Adeara’s Addiction Recovery Program was 255 days.
1,600+ Hours of Addiction Recovery Programming
Over 1,600 hours of programming was offered to support the women in four key areas:
-
- Caring for the brain and body,
- Understanding thoughts and emotions,
- Building healthy relationships,
- And strengthening their connection with God.
Over the past year, we increased group therapy hours, enabling clients to engage deeper in their recovery by providing additional time to process trauma, and understand the impact of their addiction.
Support for Transition into Independent Living
Our newly named Our newly named Recovery Support Program, was enhanced to support clients as they transition into independent living. This year, 26 women were supported through our Recovery Support Program; these are women that have left our one-year addiction recovery program but continue to receive support through resources and connection with Adeara.
One component of the Recovery Support Program is our Transition House, which was inaugurated this summer. 3 women moved in with their children and began their journey into independent living and reintegration into the community.
You can see more ways your giving has made an impact through our Year in Review video, which takes a deeper look into what we were able to accomplish together this year. You can watch it here or read about it in our annual report.
More Than a Fad Turns Five
More Than a Fad Thrift Store, Adeara’s social enterprise, celebrated its 5th birthday this year. The store is operated by a vibrant team of over 60 volunteers and 10 staff and has experienced its most successful year to date! Sales, foot traffic and donations have been on a steady upward trajectory, reflecting the loyal customer base and the powerful impact of shining a spotlight on Adeara’s work within our community.
Needless to say, we have been deeply encouraged by your support.
Your Generosity in Action
On Giving Tuesday, 59 of you stepped forward and raised $45,608 for the women and children at Adeara. As the year came to a close, you helped ensure that no financial barrier would prevent a woman from accessing life-changing addiction recovery.
Thanks to you, every dollar of our year end matching campaign was met. Together, we surpassed our goal and raised $210,236 for Adeara’s programming!
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we step into a new year, we are filled with expectancy of what God will do next. Currently in our centre we have clients who have been with us for a significant amount of time who are looking ahead to their next chapter, women who have just begun their recovery journey, and those in between. We have families living in our transition house and several more being supported through the Recovery Support Program.
Thank you for believing in the women of Adeara and in us, to carry our mission forward to empower and equip women to live in sustainable recovery through hope, healing and restoration.
The work is not done; bring on 2026!
