Donations Matched This Giving Tuesday

This December 3 is #GivingTuesday, a global movement that harnesses the power of individuals and organizations to create positive change in their communities and beyond. This year, an Adeara donor has generously offered to match the first $5,000 given on Giving Tuesday. That means your donation of $10, $50 or $100 will become $20, $100 or $200 (respectively) towards the women in recovery at Adeara. What an impact we can make when we work together!!

Your gift this Giving Tuesday will contribute to the following:

  1. Ensure each woman has a safe, secure apartment equipped with basic essentials such as hygiene products, bedding, and nutritious food. Meeting these physical needs and establishing safety is foundational for fostering trust toward healing and recovery.
  2. Support individual counselling, group therapy sessions, and educational resources that empower women in daily recovery-focused classes, addressing the root causes of addiction.
  3. Offer parenting support to help mothers build healthy relationships and set boundaries with their children, breaking the cycle of addiction for themselves and future generations.

This Giving Tuesday, through Adeara’s long-term, faith-based program, your gift can be the difference between a mother overcoming addiction and families experiencing the destructive cycle of addiction.

Launched in 2012, Giving Tuesday takes place on the Tuesday following American Thanksgiving, encouraging intentional giving after a weekend focused on consumerism. Today, after twelve years, Giving Tuesday continues to inspire and empower people, aiming “to build a world where generosity is a part of everyday life,” (GivingTuesday2024).

What is Adeara?

Adeara is a faith-based, accredited addiction recovery centre for women and their children. We provide long-term programming to women in need in a residential setting. We’re here to walk with women through every step of their recovery journey—from addiction to sobriety, and transitioning back into the community.

I’ve come to realize that I was never alone because God was with me. Having a greater understanding of addiction provides me a greater advantage of recovery … I can honestly say I have an abundance of hope in my life.
